“The scenario is the drama”

• THE HUMAN CONDITION

  One of the central concerns in my artistic practice is the representation of vulnerable aspects of the human condition. I approach these questions primarily through painting, working mainly with oil, while drawing also remains a sustained and important part of my practice. Visually, I am drawn to the tension between light and shadow — an element I explore through scenes of everyday life.

• ART AS DIALOGUE

  I am interested in directing my practice toward a broader conversation about sensitive issues within the social sphere, where art can function as a tool for reflection and dialogue. When creating, I can be very tenacious and even obsessive, working in my own way and at my own pace.

• CREATING AND DESTROYING

  “All creation comes from destruction.” Perfection is my worst enemy — my instinct for perfection should abstain.
